I had the pleasure of working with Mona for 15 years as her middle school principal, then her high school principal and most recently as the superintendent of schools. Mona loved teaching, especially sharing her unique artistic skills with her students. Every spring she showed her pride for her students when she displayed their art. Many of her students have done well in the area of art. Three students from my son Ryan's class, Susie Sivertson (Standard), Laurie Dummer and Marie Gabert are now art teachers in Wisconsin public schools. I know there are others as well who have been inspired by Mona's work with them.
Mona was well respected by her fellow teachers and administrators. She will be sadly missed.
